Quand en 2008 vous êtes devenu le 44ème Président des Etats-Unis d’Amérique, les espérances des peuples du monde étaient très hautes en ce qui a trait aux changements possibles que votre présidence pourrait provoquer non seulement aux Etats-Unis mais aussi dans le monde entier. Les valeurs que vous incarniez et que vous exprimiez si souvent symbolisaient aux yeux du monde une nouvelle ère de grande transformation et d’initiatives osées pour la paix mondiale.
En octobre 2009, le Comité du Nobel Norvégien concourût avec ces espérances et vous a octroyé le Prix Nobel de la Paix, évidemment non pas pour ce que vous aviez eu le temps d’accomplir pour la paix du monde en moins d’un an en fonction, mais pour les actions que les citoyens du monde anticipaient que vous pourriez stimuler au cours de votre présidence.
